Privacy-First MRZ Scanner Review
Has anyone integrated OCR Studio's MRZ Scanner into their app? Really impressed by the full on-premise approach — zero data leaves the device, perfect for banking & travel compliance. Handles glare, weird angles, and non-standard passports surprisingly well. WebAssembly version loads fast too. Only downside: setup takes a bit longer than cloud OCRs, but worth it for privacy. Thoughts? Anyone using it in production?

Full on-device processing made compliance reviews much easier, especially for travel and identity workflows. Accuracy under glare and odd angles was better than expected, and the WebAssembly build performed smoothly in-browser. You’re right that setup takes longer than plug-and-play cloud OCR, but once configured it’s stable and predictable. For teams where data never leaving the device is non-negotiable, it’s absolutely worth the extra effort.
